The Soulever Foundation exists to inspire students toward higher education through the power of music — lifting them financially, intentionally, and permanently, so no one ever has to make the choice Sgt. Edmond L. Randle Jr. made.
Army Sgt. Edmond L. Randle Jr. was born on January 24, 1977. A musician, a brother, and a man who gave everything he had every time he was called. He was decorated by the United States Army with the Army Achievement Medal, the Purple Heart, and the Bronze Star.
Edmond did not choose the military over school. He chose the military to pay for school. That distinction is the reason this foundation exists.
On January 17, 2004, during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Sgt. Edmond L. Randle Jr. gave the last full measure of devotion. He was 26 years old.
These kids here today under the sound of my voice, and others that will be seated in these same seats in the future, shall have a new birth — a new birth of financial freedom.
These are the principles that govern how Soulever shows up — for students, for families, and for the legacy we carry forward.
Empowering students through scholarships that remove the financial weight standing between them and a degree.
Uplifting families and neighborhoods through service that meets people where they are.
Partnering with individuals and organizations who share a commitment to lifting students toward their future.
Liberating students from financial burden so they can be fully present in school and fully launched in life.
Creating an environment of positivity and perseverance for every student we serve.
Honoring the role music plays in shaping discipline, community, and purpose in a student's life.
The governance, structure, and discipline that every named scholarship and every program will stand on. The work most people never see — and the work that matters most.
An evening of remembrance, music, and giving — the night before what would have been Sgt. Randle's 50th birthday. Our first named scholarships, each carrying the story of the person it honors.
Annual reports, IRS filings, and financial statements — open to the families, donors, and partners who make this possible.
A nonprofit run with discipline and a genuine heart for its mission is, we believe, the most powerful organizational model there is. That starts with being honest about where we are — not where we wish we were.
View Our Governance DocumentsWe're not looking for people to do work for us. We're looking for the right people to build something with — for the long term.
One-time, monthly, or legacy giving — every dollar moves a student closer to a degree they would otherwise have to fight for.
Make a GiftVendors, sponsors, and organizations aligned with our mission. We're building toward our next major event years in advance — and we'd rather build that relationship now.
Learn About PartnershipVolunteers, mentors, and community members who want to be part of a student's story — not just a transaction.
