A scholarship is more than a financial award. It is a shield for a dream. We believe that brilliant minds should spend their energy solving the world's greatest challenges, not worrying about how to afford the next semester. At the Soulever Foundation®, we invest in the person, not just the transcript. This is the permanent home for every scholarship and fellowship administered by the Soulever Foundation. Each one carries its own story, its own honoree, and its own standard of excellence.
This cornerstone scholarship is dedicated to honoring the legacy of Sgt. Edmond L. Randle Jr., a leader who defined service, sacrifice, and community elevation. This award is designed for students who demonstrate not only academic drive but a deep-seated commitment to lifting others as they climb.
Students do not apply. Full-time Band Program members with a 3.00 GPA who march in the Marching Band, play in the Wind Band, and lead within the band are identified through the Band Program’s internal selection process.
Preserving the Past.
Funding the Present.
Preparing for the Future.
For more than half a century, students have traveled the road from Miami Central Senior High School's Rocket Blvd to Florida A&M University. Rocket to Rattler exists because that road already existed. Soulever is helping preserve it, document it, and fund the students traveling it today.
Miami Central Band Program alumni who continue on to FAMU and join the Marching Band. Every student who meets the requirements may qualify, subject to verification and available funding.
Leadership begins with responsibility and continues through service. Recognizing students who served as a high school band president or band captain and continue to lead with integrity, accountability, and purpose in the collegiate Band Program.
The application window is not yet open. Review eligibility now and prepare your materials ahead of time.
Take what you're learning, and put it to work. The Soulever Foundation Fellowship gives FAMU students meaningful, supervised opportunities to apply their classroom learning to real institutional work. It is not a scholarship, and it is not only for music or Band Program students.
The Fellowship is a professional-development program, separate from Soulever's named scholarships.
These four programs are just the beginning. Additional named Soulever scholarships (honoring Dr. Julian E. White, Carmina Fennell, Dr. Shaylor L. James, Kenneth R. Tolbert, Dr. Richard Wayne Beckford, and Kofi Hemmingway, among others) are built and ready, and will be introduced as the Foundation's inaugural gala unfolds.
Each program has its own selection process, described on its page. Every decision is made with care, looking at character, service, and the student behind the record.
